A Microboard is a group of committed family and friends who join together with a person who has a disability to create a supportive not-for-profit corporation.

Stay tuned for spring/summer courses coming soon!

All Microboard Foundational courses are an admissible expense under the Passport Program of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) for individuals and families, subject to the $2,500 limit on person-directed planning supports.

Microboard Principles & Functions

The key principle of a Microboard is that each person has the capacity to express their will and preferences in some way.  As a result, each person can be involved in directing their life and taking charge of key decisions with the support of others.

The three key functions of a Microboard are to nurture freely given relationships, to offer support to decision-making and to maintain formal legal governance and accountability structures.
